I’m Kate, a Pacific Northwest storyteller, wilderness guide, conservationist, and whitewater kayaker. My work has been used to promote sustainable business, facilitate environmental education, and to connect humans with their wildness.

In 2014 I spent a month in the backcountry of Southeast Alaska, training as an outdoor educator, with the goal of empowering others through immersive experiences in the wilderness that has always inherently been part of all of us.

As my outdoor career unfolded, I began using my camera to document the stories of human and non-human animals as they navigate the external and internal landscape of being.

I care deeply about giving back to the wilderness and wild ones that have held me through the process of carving my own path, and creating new opportunities for connection through storytelling. I hope these photos inspire others to find a home within themselves and the natural world.
